01
Summary: 30-second overview
Most European nationalities can enter Kyrgyzstan visa-free; rules and allowed days differ by passport, and Turkish citizens are commonly listed at 90 days within 180. Because the rules change, confirm the current requirement with a Kyrgyz consulate or your foreign ministry before you travel. Your passport must be valid; ID cards are not accepted. Track your exit date: overstaying the allowed period can bring fines and problems.
02
Visa status by nationality
Many nationalities, including most EU countries, the UK, the US, Canada and Australia, can enter visa-free for a limited stay; the allowed number of days differs by passport. Turkish citizens are commonly listed at 90 days within 180. The Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs publishes the official list, and if your country isn't visa-exempt the e-visa portal accepts applications online. Please confirm the current rule for your passport before you travel.
03
Passport requirements
Your passport must be valid for the whole trip and, as with most countries, usually at least 6 months from the date of entry; confirm the exact rule with the consulate. Make sure there are blank pages for entry and exit stamps. ID cards are not accepted, a passport is required.
04
Do I need an e-visa?
Citizens of visa-exempt countries (most EU, US, Turkey, etc.) do NOT need an e-visa. You enter directly through Manas Airport (Bishkek). Some online sources mention the e-visa process, that's for non-exempt nationalities. Visa-exempt travellers queue, present passport, get stamped, total process is 5 minutes.
05
What gets asked at border control?
Generally not much. Officials check: passport validity, return ticket (if asked), stay duration plan. Often only one or two questions: where are you going, how long are you staying, hotel? If you're coming on an Atla Yolculuk tour, "a tour in Naryn" suffices; if asked, show your booking confirmation. Standard luggage screening; personal hygiene products and gear are freely allowed.
06
Extending your stay
If your planned stay is longer than the visa-free allowance, ask a Kyrgyz consulate or the State Migration Service in Bishkek about the current options; the rules change often. This does not apply to an Atla Yolculuk tour.
07
Other useful things to know
Entry/exit records are kept digitally; your passport gets stamped on every entry/exit but border officers also have electronic records. Under-18s travel with parents; for unaccompanied minors a notarized permission letter (from both parents) may be required. For dual nationals, using whichever passport is most convenient is fine.
