Story

How Atla Yolculuk started

Atla Yolculuk grew out of a few weeks on horseback in Kyrgyzstan. We saw there how different it is to travel slowly and together with local people.

Our first tour was in summer 2024, with a small group of friends: from Saar Waterfall to Kel-Suu lake, from Tash Rabat to the nomadic pastures. When we got back we decided to share it with small groups.

For the 2027 season the plan is the same: small groups, local guides and the same route.

Atla Yolculuk founder

Founder

Suel Selik

Atla Yolculuk was founded by Suel Selik, who was born in Turkey, has travelled widely and now focuses on horseback tours in Kyrgyzstan. The interest in horses goes back to childhood, the mountains came later; the two met in Naryn.

Route selection, horse care and the work with local families all go through the founder. Guests are met in Bishkek.

Team

Our local partners

The core of our tour team is local guides and families who live in Naryn. They look after the horses, set up the yurts and prepare the meals.

Philosophy

Why small groups?

Fewer places, more time: we walk to a waterfall, sit at a family's table, spend an evening by a lake without a phone. That is the rhythm of our tours.

Crowds wear down nomadic culture and the land. We keep groups to 6–12 riders.

All we ask of our guests: don't be in a hurry, and be open to meeting local people.
